Well Sandstormers, learn more
Beach Volleyball
Started by bored surfers in Hawaii looking for something to do when there were no waves, beach volleyball is now a full blown competitive sport around the world. The game enjoys a huge following in USA and much of Europe (which is mad since Switzerland doesn't even have a beach).Beach volleyball in Australia has been growing strongly. In the Summer Olympics of 1996 in Atlanta, beach volleyball debuted as a sport and Australia’s Natalie Cook and Kerri Pottarst claimed international recognition by winning a bronze medal. Then not content with that success, in Sydney 2000, Nat and Kerri won the gold medal, cheered on by 10,000 screaming fans. In the same year, the golden pair received the accolade of being the FIVB's Team of the Decade. Enjoy beach volleyball at Sandstorm in a fun, social atmosphere. Get a great resistance workout in sand.
Sandstorm caters for everyone – absolute beginners and the competitive. Depending on your skill and fitness level, play with 2 players per team like they do at the Olympics or all the way to 6 players per team – the more players you have on the court, the easier it gets!
Sandstorm also relaxes some of the rules of the game according to the grade so everyone can enjoy the game and keep the rallys going.
